Debut album from Sam Green’s Rivers and Lakes, a UK-based 6 piece Jazz collective. A series of original compositions inspired by the beauty of northern England in which Sam spent much of his youth; from the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales to the lakes and fells of Cumbria.
Charged with emotional energy and vivid expression of improvisation, the music reflects the rugged and mountainous landscapes; soaring peaks, lowland valleys and dramatic crags, shaped by nature and early industrial ventures.
Daniel Vause - Alto/Tenor Saxophone
Em Craig - Sop/Tenor Saxophone
Nils Kavanagh - Piano
Mykola Davydenko - Guitar
Ursula Harrison - Double Bass
Sam Green - Drums / Composition
All compositions by Sam Green with the exception of ‘Stop This Train,’ written by John Mayer. Recorded, mixed and mastered by Andrew Lawson at Fieldgate Studios near Cardiff, Wales.
Produced by Sam Green and Joseph Van Parys.
Artwork and design by Matthew Cox with Newman + Eastwood.
Scheduled release in April 2026.
